Keeping It Royal?

With three weeks to go until Kate says "I do" not a day goes by without a Royal wedding story appearing in the press.

The entire operation has been shrouded in secrecy with Clarence House keeping tight control over what details are released to the press, thus leaving the tabloids gagging for any small scrap of news that can be scraped off the royal floor.

It is a complete surprise that the designer of the wedding dress has remained anonymous. The fashion world is a small business and many thought it would be a matter of weeks, before the name and design was leaked.

Fashion insiders are hoping Kate has picked a British designer, but it is highly likely we won't get to find out until the big day now.

With absolutely no detail on the wedding dress, reporters today are turning their attentions on what accessories Kate might be choosing to wear on the biggest day of her life.

According to several reports Kate is insisting she wants to wear flowers in her hair, but Camilla will only settle for a formal tiara.

If this is true, then it only highlights the generation gap.

And how times have moved on. With press interest increasing by the day, for the first time ever Clarence House created a dedicated website for the wedding, where it has been confirmed that William will wear his military uniform to get married in and is the official place to buy souvenirs.

But a simple search on the net throws up findings that suggest the couple have chosen a chocolate biscuit cake made by McVitie's and how Prince Harry has insisted he will only be referred to as the "best man" instead of the official title "Royal Family's traditional obscure moniker of Supporter

You might say William and Kate want to keep it real, while Charles and Camilla want to keep it royal.

Kate's Infamous See-through Dress

The soon-to-be Princess Catherine once wore a see-through dress for a fashion show. And fashion critics thought darling Kate's outfits were too bland and boring!
A St. Andrews student named Charlotte Todd had designed a black, blue and gold see-through skirt to be worn by a model during the University of St. Andrews fashion show in 2002. The model was Kate Middleton. Instead of wearing the skirt with a slip, Kate wore it as a mini-dress, with a matching pair of bra and panties instead of a slip.

Kate wore the dress for probably less than a minute, but it was long enough to allow Prince William, who was seated in the front row, a good look. Kate and Prince William were, at the time, very good friends… but Kate should have wondered why Prince William paid close to £350 just to see Kate walk around in a see-through dress for less than 60 seconds!

If rumors are to be believed, that little slip of fabric helped Katie and Prince William get over the friendship barrier and enter a royal romance that's being followed by millions of royal watchers around the globe.

To be honest, though, if it weren't for the above fact, the dress itself isn't much to rave about. It's rather shapeless and the hemlines are ragged, and heaven knows why Todd chose to decorate the hem with what looks like a ribbon from a cake box. Despite the fact that the dress kind of looks like an arm warmer that's gone through the cold cycle one too many times, the dress sold at Kerry Taylor Auctions last month for a whopping £78,000!

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your stance on see-through dresses (sexy and chic or outdated and trashy), now that Kate's about to become England's newest princess, she's probably not going to wear another see-through dress any time soon. However, if recent pictures of Kate in gorgeous gowns, pretty frocks, and crisp trench coats are any indication, we royal watchers are going to be treated to several more of Kate Middleton's adventurous (but probably less risqué!) fashion choices.
